Gulmit Gojal, Pakistan
Having no alternates available, the Wakhi/Pamirians living in Gojal valley Pakistan have been relying on woods for cooking and heating for centuries. The scarcity of firewood is now paving the path to remove big fruit trees and other old trees in the region. This rapidly unwanted changing practices are greatly damaging the fragile mountain ecosystem as well adversely effecting the pristine nature of the area.
