Female relatives and family members of Tanka Bahadur Damai burst into tears as the male relatives and family members carry the body of Tanka towards Gath for ritual cremation in Maiyum Village, Besishahar, Lamjung District, Nepal.

Tanka died at the age of 47 Year in Qatar on 21 September 2016. He had been working as a carpenter in Qatar since 8 years. After 57 days of his death, his family was able to bring his dead body to his home for cremation today, on 3 November 2016.
Tank Bahadur has one daughter and three sons. The eldest son is working in Saudi Arab since six months and another elder son is working in Dubai since two months. The youngest son also has applied for Dubai, but has to cancel his application due to the death of his father in Qatar who was working there as a carpenter since 8 years”.
The death certificate of Tanka Bahadur Damai issued from Qatar reports cardiac arrest as cause for death. The family of Tank Bahadur Damai has not yet got any compensation from Qatar and Nepal Government.
“The company should have given compensation, Nepal government should too. The earthquake destroyed my house. If I do not get any compensation, life will be really difficult for me, my husband worked in Qatar for more than 8 years as carpenter”, said Ram Maya Pariyar, wife of Tanka.
