The slew of hydropower dams being planned in Bhutan goes against the very grain of the philosophy of Gross National Happiness, as it has the potential to wreck havoc on the fragile mountain ecology of the tiny Himalayan nation. The future of such rivers is in peril from large dams in Bhutan.
