The ‘ResilientHKH’ Photo Story Contest aims to draw attention to the unique challenges of and solutions for resilience building in the Hindu Kush Himalaya.
This contest is sponsored by the upcoming international conference ‘Resilient Hindu Kush Himalaya: Developing Solutions towards a Sustainable Future for Asia’, which is being organized by the European Union, Government of Nepal’s Ministry of Population and Environment, and ICIMOD. We hope that through this contest, photographs and the accompanying stories will allow ‘mountain voices’ to be represented and heard at the Conference.
- Impacts of Change
How is environmental change in the HKH impacting people and/or landscapes? Use your photo story to show the consequences of environmental change in the HKH.
- Resilient solutions
What technologies and innovative ideas can help to build resilience in the mountains? Use your photo story to showcase a solution that is building climate change resilience in HKH.
- Down-stream connections
Why does resilience in the HKH matter for sustainability in Asia? Use your photo story to show how the HKH region is linked with the rest of Asia.
Participants are encouraged to use their photo stories to give a voice to and share the stories of people in the mountains and downstream who are facing and/or overcoming the challenges of climate change and resilience building. Entries sharing stories of women and other marginalized groups are highly encouraged.
